NY Post Post

I miss the outlandish NY Post headlines. The bizarre fodder for the office stories and doctored photos that made me pony up a quarter, then gave me a toothache. * k

AWESOME. more politicians need to dress in western garb. but not like the GWB kind, where all they do is clear brush b/c they're too much of an ass to hire some hungry mexican, but like the badass "Tombstone" kind.

i honestly do not miss the ny post at all. people actually read that propagandist crap as news, k! did you really buy it? it always scared the shit out of me to see people reading that on the train, knowing they'd then go home and watch some fox news & consider themselves well-informed.

have you seen "idiocracy"? so close to home...

I am sure I bought it a few times, but yeah it is tabloid, not actually news. But I remember reading headlines off of folks' paper on the train- several rhyming words: "Cops Rocks pops tops!" Um, ok. That pic is gewd, though.

you're right about that! the picture is fucking great, i'll admit it. *l

I have a hard time believing that most people who read the NY post considered themselves as informed. i think most of them read it for page 6, sports news and something to "do" while riding on the train (it was cheap & easily accessible). Sad thing is, when you move somewhere that really sucks, you realize that, even just by reading the NY Post, most of those new yorkers ARE more informed than the average american who doesn't even read on public transportation or, really, even use public transport at all.

ah, that brings up the debate: is it better to be oblivious, or to read only snippets of heavily slanted reportage bordering on misinformation at times?
i still remember after the 9-11 commission hearings: "CONDI KICKS ASS." really? i didn't think she was supposed to kick a bi-partisan committee investigating national security's asses. i thought she was supposed to inform. ha ha! condi would rather kick ass. *l
